the gal with the breast cancer. Had a PET scan to see if the chemo is working and WONDERFUL NEWS it is the mass in her breast has shrunk as well as in the lymph nodes... THANK GOD FOR THAT!!!! I found out last week meant to update and kept getting side tracked by other things going on. right now I am not in the best of moods too much personal stuff going on. I will be back to my old self here soon I promise. I just need to let things go and be what they may. Thanks to those who emailed me personally. (((BIG HUGS)))

#17 for the 25 motif challenge

This one I really LOVE I came up with it last night and finished it tonight when my sons behavior councellor was here it gave me about 2 hours of peace so I tatted :) I used a size 30 thread. 2 shuttles and the beads go on the core thread. The # of beads depends on how long you want this I tried to make a bracelet but its too big for that and too small for a necklace. So its just a sample piece. the pattern is there too attached I hope you can see it that is if you want to make

it you would probably see it better if you clicked on it for the larger view and saved it to your computer that way. I dont know if this would qualify as celtic??? I just assumed that if its twisted its celtic, can anyone clarify this for me??? Anywhoo enjoy if you want I really love this design and bear in mind also as a needle tatter for years my patterns are written as needle so usually where you see RW you may need to use the shoe lace trick...

The top 2 are the large and small mushroom done partially in the original design the bottom 2 are the changed one. The top had larger picots which to me just didnt sit right. the bery bottom one was done in size 30 thread with beads and I am not sure that I like it with all those beads on it but its done and my daughter wants it as a pendant so its hers lol I decided to go back in time to a design that I had done way back in January of 2005. I did find some mistakes in my pattern and changed a few things which the new one will be posted here now

Its a small shuttle bag

Thanks to my little gals creative mind, she made me a small red thing she said I could use for tatting or something I thought hmmmm and I slid my shuttle into it :) and thought COOL a shuttle shoe (she called it a shoe first :)) Anyways I said to her maybe she could make some of these to sell but we would have to come up with a different pattern because it was a bit small so I pulled out some of my 4 ply cotton yarn that I hand dyed in my Waves colorway :) and came up with a small bag that is 3" x 3.5". I want a simpler pattern for her though, I haven't crocheted since before Christmas it didn't take me very long at all to do... I told her if she does them very neatly and slowly she could be a 10 year old entrepreneur, she told me ewwwww yuk! I looked at her funny and she said I dont want to be cow poop! OMG I nearly fell to the ground laughing at her silly child she sure dosen't get that from her mommy HA HA HA!!!

...your children really surprise you!

Let me tell you about last night my 10 year old, sometimes drama queen, most of the time sassy, bossy and sweet. Was being really bad last night my son went to a big amusement park as a field trip for summer camp. He was happy and talking about it all evening well Shannan was getting pretty mad because in her words "yea he gets to do fun things while i sit here and do nothing fun EVER" I was hurt by this I take her places we have gotten ice cream now and then etc. With gas prices and stuff I wasnt able to do all I wanted to with her this summer. I felt bad I told her to stop and put her on time outs. She still kept at it. Finally at 7:30 I had it and sent both of them to bed. She knew I was angry at her and hurt by what she said and did. I was near tears and know I should expect this behaviour "sometimes". This morning she woke up a bit early and told me "mom I have something for you" I had forgotten about the night before, until she reminded me she made me this...

It brought tears to my eyes because she and my son RARELY apologize for their actions. This touched me ALOT! She likes to crochet and I got some neat o necklaces earrings and bracelets and 2 small scrubbies for dishes.

Yep I thought I would tease you all, There are 40 designs in the book some with alternate ways of doing the design. Watch the slide to see them all :) The book is in its final stages of writing and a few other things need done and proofed and then it will be available.

motif #9, #10, #11 of my 3rd 25 motif challenge

#9 is another ruffled heart which is Victats Ruffled Heart design... done in size 10 thread in Bubble Gum colorway, which is not avaiable yet it was merely a test batch of a different dye technique.

#10 & #11 is PAPRIKA the DRAGON by MARTHA ESS I been wanting to make these for my kids as bookmarks and decided to do them. The pattern was so much easier than it looked at first. the one on the left is in bubble gum color size 10 thread with an extended tail in JK. The one on the right is my sons in my Vanilla Mint thread size 10 with an extended tail also done in the ruffle technique. I love these cute little dragons :)

motif #8 for the 25 motif Challenge (part 3)

I decided to do Victats Ruffled Heart design... I love it and I even stayed up until midnight so I could finish it LOL which explains why I am tired today hee hee...

I love this design and will DEFINATELY be doing it again. I love the ruffle technique its BEAUTIFUL.

well #6 is a flower (i guess) lol I was messing around using thread on shuttles when I created it no pattern really. and #7 is well something I seen in a book as an edging its done off the ball you dont close the rings completely it was a bit of a pain doing this because the partial rings kept wanting to flip around on me but its a neat star or a weird flower LOL

Monday Monday

ick!! I am not in a good mood this Monday. Why?? I dont know... Maybe its because my house was nearly 90*F yesterday and it did cool down some last night and my house is now 75*F YUK! I hate the heat because I cant breathe with my lung troubles its much worse... I will hold off turning on my air conditioner in my bedroom for as long as I can today. I didnt sleep that well last night due to the heat.
I think the contest is now closed because the big announcement will be either later today or tomorrow I need to get all the entries figured :).... ooooooohhhhh anticipation :)

one of those days

well yesterday was one of those days I "thought" it was gonna be a smooth easy day for me HA HA I shoulda known. First I was so thrilled I woke without my headache. Then Ned (the escape artist) deecided to go on a 2 hour run so Shannan and I kept trying to get him nothing was working until I yelled at the end. Ok Ned get your butt over here I am done playing your games GET OVER HERE NOW!! well he came to me cowhering the whole way LOL darn dog. He smelled badly. Allthough I was so glad he came back at the same time I was mad that he took off AGAIN! Nates BSC (behavior & social counsellor) was to come last night so we spent the morning tidying up a bit which turned into an all morning job while trying to chase down the dog also by now my headache was back full force I was not happy. Once done cleaning at noon I bathed the dog and then had to get a shower myself because I smelled like him YUKKY! I barely got to tat yesterday I hated that part. Nates BSC got here around 4:30 she is allowed 2 hours per week with him. I really liked her she is alot like me. Nate fell in love with her and Shannan hung out with them also, it was nice Nate began to act up a bit and she made him listen it was nice.
Todays agenda will be tatting tatting and hopefully more tatting... Laundry is done and the house is clean I dont have to do it on the weekend YAY!!
I am sitting here in my sweats AGAIN, What is with this weather its darn chilly this morning.

Thursday already...

For the past 2 days I have not been able to do much tatting at all because I had a horrible headache for 2 days. It wasn't a full blown migraine but very close I woke this morning about 1:30 with my head still pounding, and woke up again at 4 to the sound of the alarm clock and my headache was pretty much gone, I still feel it a little but I am so relieved its nearly gone. I plan on finishing up a few small tatting's today and maybe they can be shown. I am sitting here in a sweat shirt, sweat pants and socks its chilly here today. The weather this year is so crazy mind you I love the cooler summer but this is a bit ridiculous.
