Luceting ~the addiction continues

Here we have some necklaces that I made they took approximately an hour for each one to complete
the 1st 2 were done uniformly with 1 thread and beads I dont like the look of the tight lucet for this but the looser stitching looks great

the other 2 were done with a strand of size 10 black thread and then a strand of size 30 which is what I placed the beads on. This I really didnt care where the beads went ...

The first 2 are from Rozella Lindens book Celtic Tatting knots and patterns I got it in the mail yesterday and wanted to try it out... The 3rd one is one of my designs... Pretty arent they?

Well its Wednesday, not just your normal Wednesday but the day before THANKSGIVING ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!Help me

I got tons of stuff to do today and I gotta make a run to the store because Ned is nearly out of food darn dog has to eat too lol

The kids have 1/2 day of school today UGH!! I hope when they get home they are in a good mood and not little pooper heads like usual...

On my list today is
Making the ham
sweet potatoes
deviled eggs
pumpkin mousse
candied carrots
and of course the vultures will need supper

tomorrow
making the smoked turkey
mashed potatoes
gravy
rolls
and I think I need a pumpkin pie I love it and feel I cant do without it LOL

I can imagine there is more I will discover I need to do as I go *sigh* it never ends LOL

1. I have been stress eating alot lately also...

2. I am always too hard on myself, therefore I get down in the dumps alot which in turn causes the stress eating its a vicious cycle

3. I am addicted to music. I always need more

5. I try to please everyone in every way which in turn makes me alot harder on myself and makes me crazy and I can never seem to say NO when I need to

7. I love photography and constantly am taking pictures, I wanna be a photographer but not taking peoples photos more of a nature photographer that travels alot but I wouldnt do it without my family

8. I have freckles and am a natural redhead (leaving this here because I AM TOO)

9. My husband is my entire world, without him I feel as though I would die. When he talks about that (he is 12 years older than me) I cry because I dont want to think of that. He helps me in more ways than he will ever know

10. My kids are my life. They come 1st before anyone and anything. I am doing what I feel is right for MY kids not what others think I should do.

About to Burst!!

I know that kind of sounds gross BUT its a burst of happiness.
You know my day yesterday didnt go that well I was moody and cried. Hubby came home with my new toy... one of his co workers got himself a new computer so he asked Dave if we wanted it, well since my laptop is dead and the other computer we have is a piece of crap -o- la we said yes. We were thinking a couple hundred bucks for it but NO it was FREE... WOW the kindness of others sometimes amazes me... He fixed it all up for me and its got I bet you 5x the storage compacity at the old one WOWser I need that LOL its great and its even a flat screen I SOOOOO LOOOOOVE THAT!!! and I gotta say it
DUDE!!! I got a DELL!! ha ha remember those commercials years ago ha ha ha

Allright now my other news of excitement
The nearest tatters who live in pa are Rayanna and Carol who both live in Apollo probably very close to each other by the looks of their addresses (I wander if they know this) anyways that is so many hours drive from me I cant make long trips like that so that made me kind of sad I dont have any tatting buddies close until recently a lady ordered a book from me and like a big dork I didnt pay attention to her address until I mailed it out and it said NORTHERN CAMBRIA PA what? WHAT?? am I seeing this correctly? I live in hastings but out in the boonie section or farm country of hastings which is not very far from NC YEA!!!probably 5 - 10 minute drive WOW I am so happy we are gonna have to get together one time and tat together I LOVE IT I LOVE IT I LOVE IT I have never tatted with anyone but my daughter and I also have another lady learning to tat so that makes 4 YEA!!! Maybe I can start the Northern Cambria County TATTERS ASSOCIATION lol no just kidding but it would be great to have a small group and teach others to tat and get together on occasion....

Ok I am gonna tat I got an idea rolling around in my head for today's Tatting Tea Tuesday, I should be getting some things in order for tomorrows day of cooking up a storm but I would rather tat since I can imagine I really wont get to on Wednesday or Thursday and I will be adding some new beauties to the shop so check that out later as well :)

I had another 4 necklaces ordered from a gal I went to school with so she has ordered a total of 7 of the same style of necklace and to think I just was messing around one day when I came up with this LOL

About Tracy

She is doing good!!
Her surgery went well and Friday was her post op appointment and everything is good!!!
I sent her package out last week and she sent me a text this morning saying

"THANK YOU FOR THE MONEY AND TATTED GIFTS IT WAS VERY NICE OF YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS. THANK YOU. :)"

I appreciate everyones help with this we have sold 2 items from the shop and some have donated money for her IT IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

so sorry it took me so long to update I should have done it alot sooner...

Mondays are for the birds...

Yep they are. For some reason today I am just not happy its Monday, now mind you kids are in school and hubby is at work but still I HATE TODAY lol I think it has to do with Thanksgiving being a few days away, time went so fast this year I am not looking forward to all of it yet... I am so tired this afternoon I dont know what has come over me, I was talking to my mom and all I did was yawn between words, she probably thought I was nuts ohhhh wait a minute she already knows that HA HA!!! The past couple days I have been dealing with my blood sugar issues a bit more than usual, I hate it. I should get tested but without insurance HOW?? I dont know. I printed out a hypoglycemic diet in hopes that it will help of course all the stress I am under with ALL that is going on here and my sons attitude at times. I got a roast in the pressure cooker is just started tinging and hissing and it smells delightful already.
I am not saying that today I had a BAD day or anything its just a ho hum kind of BLAH BLAH day I guess.
I did get some tatting in on the weekend YEA go me go me go me WOO HOO right HA HA yea!! I got the 4 necklace order completed and I AM SO HAPPY with the results because I sent them to the lady who ordered them well I sent photos to her and she LOVES LOVES LOVES them...

LOL she started it I blame her she had to go and talk about it. I became intrigued thought it would be something easy for my son to do and it is YAY!! but I have been having way too much fun with it lookie what I started this morning

Yes luceting with beads and here you will see my kids lucets too you know wo have to have our names on them or of course we will fight even though they are both different species of wood lol   I bought these small lucets from http://www.sistermaide.etsy.com/ she has lots of neat little goodies I had bought a shuttle from her last year and then seen she had these bought them instantly became addicted and am awaiting my 4 pronged one to come... And you will see my AWESOMELY WONDERFUL hook pen from http://www.ladyshuttlemaker.etsy.com/ they work great for luceting also I have now ordered 5 from Sherry 1 each for my kids for luceting and tatting....

SIGH!! the addictions! LOL

Left we have my initial it didnt work so well on the Right we have pink and brown flowers this one is my favorite

Left here we have a plain white with glitter its highly shimmerous (not really a word but whatever lol) and on the Right is the black beauty not really good for tatting because the black paint I used caused it to feel sort of sticky...






I tried a different method today well 2 different. I cut each shuttle from a pattern of my own design. I normally used the designed hole shapes but this time I free hand cut them and I really think they turned out better the flower and shimmer are the new ones and the flower was a different coloring method that worked WONDERFULLY instead of using acrylic paints like I used on the black one.

Feels like one of them days

Did you ever have one of those days where you feel so scatter brained you cant function properly...
That is me today I have my to do list, Did some of that but as usual got side tracked big time... I had in my plans for today spending 2 hours on clay creating, well that turned into more creating and then painting the clay before I knew it I was shaking like crazy, WHY well it was nearly 12:30 and I hadent eaten or drank anything since 6am UGH damned low blood sugar. So I ate something and had some mountain dew instant caffeine and sugar LOL So I got my kitchen tidied up and that is about it except some neat-o new shuttles but they need the finishing touches which will hopefully be tomorrow... I have chicken sitting here to make for supper but WHAT TO MAKE WITH IT?? I sometimes really hate cooking, no one here gives me sugggestions of what they want but if its not what they want boy to I hear it... I have a necklace order I need to do 4 of them all same style but diffferent colors I was going crazy last night because I had the pattern written out on paper somewhere well I found a stack of post-it notes with probably 15 patterns UGH! I didnt know which one it was I was furious because I DONT HAVE MY LAP TOP TO LOOK AT THE PHOTO :( and I wasnt about to turn on this heap of crap and spend a good 20 minutes until it decides if it wants to behave or not. So this morning I looked at the photo and the pattern that I thought was it IT WAS :) Well I only started it and got a clover and a chain done  Grrrr!!
My son was in rare form this morning ARGH! he refused to take his pill and I wasnt about to fight with him he was already yelling and stomping around, somedays I want to just run and hide from everyone and everything....
Well I better go and figure out supper and get busy. I felt the need to vent and complain today LOL

2nd etsy shop

why do I feel like I have been at this computer ALL DAY well probably because I have been... Not really but it sure seems like it... I have a huge and by huge I mean HUGE pile of things to add to my new shop, so far mainly scrap booking stuff I had never planned on getting into that but was more interested in the printed paper for cards and stuff, sigh I think I went a bit over board My intentions were there but...

PAPER QUILLING!!!

While I was cleaning up I ran across my supplies and tossed them aside. Then I ran into 2 shoebox totes of my various cards and items I had made...

In one of those little boxes I found my most favorite pieces of quilling I had designed...

These ladies came out of my head... Big shocker there LOL... Now I got the paper itch or it could be the dust LOL I will be listing some of this in my shop sometime soon...

And these are mostly all dated 2005 so its been awhile since I done this LOL

My Birthday

Dave and I celebrated my Birthday on Saturday... The went from good to bad to worse I am not getting into what happened I dont need tears LOL but we decided to stay at home we went for a walk and got some groceries and watched movies it was great!! My mom had the kids this night and I was instructed to NOT come until around 11 to get them... My mom made me a birthday dinner and cake I felt badly because Dave made me breakfast this day too and I had already eaten but I just couldnt resist my moms mashed potatoes and gravy so I had some it was good and she made me an apple cake which is sadly almost gone LOL no pictures of that cake sorry... When we were at the store we bought me a cake from the bakery our Giant Eagle has the most awesome cakes they have Satin icing which isnt as sweet as the other sugar icings. My mom made us a snowman family and an advent calender its still in the bag until Dec 1. but My snowman family is on the table I love it and its soooooooo super cute (my mom may have an etsy shop beginning January 2010) My mom is so creative that is probably where i get it from :)

Could you, Would you? Use a shuttle this small?

I was playing with clay today LOL 4 hours went by this morning before I knew it. My day went too fast :(

Anyways I had recently purchased some clay cutters they looked bigger online but ohhh well they are nice anyways... I seen this peticular shape and just tossed it aside not really tossed just put it with the others then I got to thinking ohhhh now neat would little itty bitty shuttles be? Pendants? Earrings? You know me when I get on to something It kind of snowballs LOL So I decided to go ahead and just do it so I did... This shuttle measures a whopping 7/8" that is seven eights inches its not a typo lol. I have a normal sized hand for a lady my ring finger is size 7 dont know if that helps with my hand size but any whoo I used this itty bitty shuttle and it took me a few stitches and it started to flow smoothly, I really like it and to tell the truth it felt more comfy in my hand than the normal sized ones...

I am looking for 4 lucky tatters to be the 1st to reply that will test these for me. I would like for you to test them as soon as you can so I know whether to put them in my shop or if you think they are too small...

Like I said it takes a little getting used to but once you get it I think its a nice little shuttle to tat with...

Shuttle vs. Needle Tatting

Well this always seems to be an issue not really an issue but some people feel that if you dont shuttle tat you arent REALLY tatting... To me its about the same, shuttle is a bit harder for me because my stitching is never right...

these were both resized at a different percentage so you cant cheat LOL
In my opinion they look the same You can make needle tatting look exactly like shuttle tatting...
