Guard Bear?? and Tatting patterns...

First I will show you I decided within the past week of resting my leg to organize my patterns I had printed out. WOWser I got 3 binders full THREE the top one is of my published books, the middle one is MY designed patterns that are available and the bottom one is patterns I want to do or have done, I still have more to print and put in. plus the tons of books I got and the several I just ordered from Handy Hands ohhhh the addiction LOL

Now I would like you to meet Blueberry, she is a sweet teddy bear that my hubby bought me for Easter one year she is so soft and cuddly. She loves to get into my tatting and play dress - up. So I decided to make her guard bear of my tatting she sits by me on my little table here and keeps my tatting safe. She looks loveable but touch the tatting and she will take your arm off.

Well these were requested and I designed 5 only 4 are available because the one just didnt make the cut, it couldn't sing, or dance basically it had no talent what so ever :P lol

September 29, 2009 Tatting Tea Tuesday

Well for todays Tatting Tea Tuesday, I am drinking a cup of 'iced' Bavarian Wild Berry tea. YUM-O I dont really like hot tea so Iced is my thang ;0)

I had also saved a certain project for today, a lady who is new to needle tatting contacted me asking if I had some simple leaf patterns for fall.... I know I didnt, I told her if she could wait a few days I would design some so that is what was done today

I designed 5 small leaves the purple one (top left) I am not real pleased with it just didnt turn out quite right to me. I still need to retat these babies and get the pattern perfected. The pattern will be available when I am finished for all!

New Necklace pattern available

I made this necklace for my Daughter, she loves it and it supports the new love of celtic twisting I have found. This was just a mess around pattern done in size 10 thread and YES WITH A SHUTTLE lol
I have also discovered the art of making a pdf file properly, Instead of making all my pages in my paint program and then loading them all as images I discovered how to do it correctly... Talk about DUH ohhh well lol

Back from the Doctors...

I fell on Sunday pretty hard on my leg which was on a rock going the opposite way of my bone.... My clumsyness got the better of me this time... It hurt and still does only not quite as bad. Between my mom's stern voice telling me to GO TO THE DOCTORS you know like all moms do... and David yelling at me to go I FINALLY went today I was worried the whole time because I have no health coverage so money was a huge issue... Diagnosis Superficial blood clot, Not serious it will not break up and go to my heart (thank god) Treatment is heat on the site, more fluids, double dose aleve, and stay off my feet as much as possible until Monday HA HA HA that one is just too funny. I stopped at hubbys work to let him know, he was on lunch and he asked me what was going to be for supper (after I told him what the doc said) I told him that I didnt know maybe something quick. He said ohhhh I was thinking about Meatloaf, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy... WHAT??? So I guess my days of relaxing are over since its not THAT serious. Sometimes I feel like I am taken completely for granted here. Moms / Wives arent allowed sick days... Sigh
Well off to get busy err I mean rest HA HA

Tatting Tea Tuesday... My first time participating

Yep its my first time participating in Tatting Tea Tuesday... I had me a nice cool glass of Iced Tea I cant drink hot tea unless its with my friend Amy, dunno why but I cant. I am weird LOL

I participated today because I was given strict orders to rest my leg... WHY you ask?? Well some klutz (ME) fell on Sunday and hurt my leg , usually I get a few scratches or bruises and I am ok this time well its a doozey (sp) I dont know what I did and I am going to find out tomorrow morning. It still hurts and the way I fell its amazing that I didnt break it.

Ok on to my tuesday tea tats or is it tat teas for tuesday, I dunno anyways... The top heart is Susan K Fuller's HEARTS DESIRE I had started one last night but messed up from the start I think it had to do with the pain in my leg and I was so tired from not sleeping so well because of the pain, so a new one was started this morning around 5am. Next we have on the bottom left is the TINY SQUARE TEA POT from Martha Ess' book Tea is for Tatting... or Tatting Tea Tuesday? hmmm do you think she made this book for Tatting Tea Tuesday? The bottom right we have Sandra's Dainty Heart by Crazy Mom Tats, she is so funny. I love it its a small heart of her own design. All these are done in size 30 thread the top is Summer's Day (not available yet) and the bottom 2 are Autumn Mountain (also not available yet)

Its weird that I tatted other things than my own today :) It was nice for a change. I have bought quite a few tatting books and barely tatted anything from them and now I am about to order Jons 2 books :)

I finished up today and I am so glad. Once the final approvals come to me it will be available for purchase.

The book has 40 different ideas for jewelry but with some of the variations I think its actually around 54 WOW no wander it took me so long HA HA!!

I did end up changing the cover to it though... I ended up deleting the original dont know how but I did or the dog did it do you think that excuse would work??? kind of like the dog ate my homework story...

Time for me to complain...

I still am not feeling well BLAH! I started this cold on Monday with the sore throat and body aches, today the throat feels alot better BUT it has settled in my lungs as usual... Hubby kept telling me to go to the doctors, I refused because I have no insurance. I should have went. My mom brought me some medicine today (THANKS MOM) and visited with me for awhile, she played with the Nedster he loved it LOL I am coughing so hard my head is hurting and if I cough hard enough I about pee myself :( it sucks... I want this crap to go away Grrr! I am not doing much this weekend I need to get well, I just hope my kiddos help me out on this but I can imagine it will be Mom this and MOM that or hey dear this and hey dear that (hubby talk)
On a good note I finished up all my patterns for my book I only have 2 pages to go and its possibly ready. My testers are nearly done YAY!!! They have been working so hard on my designs, I thank them dearly!!! THEN I will get the contest winners their prizes, some of the prizes are the jewelry sets from the book so that is why they havent been mailed yet...
ok gonna run, I felt like whining lol now I am going to go and see if I got some knock me out cough syrup here I hope so :)

Lady Tat's Three's Snowflake...

is a beautiful and dainty little snowflake that I decided last night to make....CLICK HERE for the pattern.  Well 1st try failed becuse I misread the directions DUH!! 2nd try seemed to be going well but I was and still am under the weather and tired as heck. When I assessed it this morning it just didnt look right so I sat it aside and did a few other things. Went back to it and here I added an extra picot on a few of the center rings DOUBLE DUH! So I finished it while it looked goofy I was a bit determined to make one NORMALLY now I really dont know what qualifies as normal tatting, who really knows. BUT the purpleish and white was the screw up done in size 20. The aqua and beige-ish color is done in size 10 even at size 10 this dainty little snowflake measures approx 2". The size 10 thread was a 'tie dye' test I had done and seriously is beige-ish really a word... LOL
I think I am gonna drag my butt in for a shower hopefully it makes me feel a little better and wakes me up, my son has his psych appointment this afternoon its not that far of a drive but I dont really feel like driving he needs to go though. I am seriously thinking McDonalds for supper. I hope I can have more tatting to show soon.

The things WE teach our children...

Those of you who are parents will know exactly where I am coming from...
You know how you teach your kids to be kind, have respect, have manners, to be helpful, and caring and most importantly to SHARE... Well the sharing is one thing I wish i would not have taught my kids because as I get older and my immunity gets weaker and as my kids get older and their immunity gets stronger. I get 'things' more often. Well my daughter got a cold the first week of school and then my son got it, and now you guessed it they SHARED it with me. It started yesterday I thought i could ignore it and well I cant. I ache, my throat is sore, I am coughing, my ears hurt and my neck hurts. Basically I feel like POOP!! lol I fnally get rid of the 2 week headache and now I get a cold. BLAH!! I dont even feel like tatting, but I am gonna do something other than sit here. I am only kidding about not teaching our children to share but its a thought ;)

Here is a GEORGOUS model with some tatting

Meet Irma she is my ummmm I guess you would say Grand-daughter? but she calls me mom ;) She is my daughters little girl. Uhhh that sounds weird too seen as how my daughter is only 10 LOL Anyways Irma loves to have tatting. She usually gets the goofed up or tested and restested pieces I make. Well since I have testers working warily away, there was a bit of a similarity in one of my designs to another tatters design in a book. SOOOOOOOO that meant I got to design another for my book I tried the other night but my head hurt so bad I just couldnt get into it. So this afternoon I got a design it is in Irma's hair. Irma's necklace was a "test" of sort for one of the designs in my book. And the butterfly is by Ellen Lai it can be found here the only thing about mine is its done a bit wrong but hey it gives me a valid reason to do MORE TATTING HA HA!!!

Anywhoo lets get to the point of this post :)

Remember Jons tutorial on wrapping a ring with tatting with the needle. I tried it and it worked I love it...

I started one and ran out of thread :( but got bored with it and decided to try a smaller ring its in Mulberry size 30 thread and 1/2" ring my daughter already claimed it she wants me to make the other one to match for earrings... Its not perfect but its my 1st try...

I did a custom dyed thread for a customer she wanted an irish thread with greens golds and black its called Ruth's Irish... I had to tat a shamrock for it, I just had to. I tatted Ruths Celtic Shamrock its not the same lady though. Once I get her seal of approval on the colors it will be made available...

Mail and UFO's

I had ordered a book off etsy awhile ago and forgot about it until it came in the mail today...

I currently have SEVERAL UFOS at my house no not the alien ones allthough sometimes I wander when it comes to how my kiddos act LOL

The first one MAY be a doily the other is something I didnt know I could do, I tried and tried and the 3rd time was the charm. Its possibly going to be a bookmarker. They are both unfinished.

Sorry i been so MIA lately just too much stuff going on with family and my sons appointments and aides coming for him... Today i had me a nice migraine or close to it until about 3 this afternoon so it was about a day and a half headache.

Well I hope to be in more often soon on a GOOD note my book is near completion.

BIG FAT FAIL #2 (wow this is my 301st post ;)

OK I maintained calmness while tatting the 2nd piece that i tore apart last night and by George I got it or I 'thought' i had it. It went well everything twisted into place until I started round 2 I dont know what I do done didded (lol) something didnt turn out or untwisted i dont know. So I cut round 2 off :( went to see what I did and I DONT KNOW WHAT HAPPENED. So instead of ripping it up again or spending god knows how much time trying to figure out what happened I am just gonna start AGAIN .

More to come on my Celtic Failure. Pfffffftttt!

Allright I will start off with the not so sad sights. I had some thread left on a shuttle and made one of my feet, not my actual foot but my tatted foot pattern ;) the pattern is HERE

The other was just messing around with some ends I had as well. It gave me inspiration for my next design, which brings me to the sad sight...
I was working on this for a few days in between doing things. I had finished it last night well finished this part anyways I also had to take apart 2 of the chains because I skipped a ring, it was to be celtic style so I wove the areas that needed woven joined it and went to flatted it out a bit so I can do round 2 WELL it wasnt behaving it kept twisting where it wasnt supposed to, I messed wit it for about 20 minutes then I had it, I think the stress I am currently under combined with being tired and aggrivated I just grabbed each end and RIPPED IT APART and threw it on the floor. Once I realized what I had done I figured it was time for bed it was after all 11:30pm. So after about 4 hours of sleep and getting my very cranky kids off to school, I decided to re-evaluate my pattern, I made a few changes and am now working on it AGAIN this time if I get frustrated I WILL NOT rip it apart or atleast try not to the darn red head in me has a temper LOL

I LOVE JON!! Dont you all too :) She is such a fun lady super nice and SUPER DUPER smart. I been wandering about wrapping the rings as well. I do shuttle tat but prefer the needle because its what I taught myself with I guess its just more comfortable...

Jon has a tutuorial on how to do this with the needle and it didnt take me long to get it last night It was easy and fun!! I am not done but I did get it started She asked that someone test it and I did :)
