Happy "black friday"

Good Morning everyone in blog land
Yesterday went pretty good for us. With the exception of me eating too much and feeling miserable for awhile LOL. I did get some tatting done yesterday but 1 small motif took all day, hmmmmm must have been in a turkey coma for awhile there LOL
UPDATE on the smoked turkey you may recall I complained in the previous post about it WELL!! needless to say we are not getting a plain normal turkey again! The kids just went crazy for it and ate alot and my husband who will have a tiny piece and that is it ATE TONS of it I am in shock I asked him if that was really him LOL he even ate more stuffing than usual he hates the stuff I told my daughter who made it see, you already cook better than mommy!! lol The smoked turkey just has a unique flavor, its really good if you have never tried it you should sometime! Of course I was told how I am breaking tradition for the holidays AGAIN!! OK tell me this where is it that you HAVE to do what everyone else does. I am different and always will be lol.
I am not going anywhere today well because its Black Friday of course and I hate shopping and too another big thing is I still have no vehicle but I am hoping John calls today and says "your alternator is done" then I can be happy and dance around like a fool, ohhhhh wait I do that anyways LOL ;)
ok my plan was to get up early to have some me time and tat but my son decided to get up and play...I think i am destined to not have any alone time ARGH!!!

Happy Thanksgiving and other chit chat!

Happy Thanksgiving to you all!!!

Well I got up early-ish to get my turkey in the oven and stuff. Decided to sit for some tat time first. I finished 1 motif and started another and began the long process of typing patterns for the books. Then got my turkey ready, we decided to this year do something different we got a smoked turkey, I already dont like it for the reason of I got the wire out of him and all the wrappings off and went to move his big leg and nearly pulled it off :( I never had a smoked turkey so how was I to know... It smells great and he is in the oven, my 9yr old daughter got up early too and helped mix the stuffing and get some things together... We normally have daves mom here but with both vehicles down and the roads not so nice we cant get her here. He is dissappointed as I am but in a way I am also glad, I know that sounds cruel but it will be nice to just have us for a change. Everyone is in bed except me and Shannan its nice. My son is just being so mean to me, he is getting his attitude from kids at school and I hate it. That is one thing i am NOT thankful for.

my husband (allthough he angers me to no end at times, I really dont know where i would be now if i had not met him)

and Frisky my dog (sounds strange to miss him on a holiday BUT usually on the holidays when things calmed down I would take him some table scraps and just talk or play with him, I really missed it on my birthday and now this holiday too :( )
This year is real hard I dont understand why usually I am too busy to be thinking so much about them on the holiday and with this one being a bit less busy, is giving my mind time to think more. or its just one of those days. who knows :)

Ok gonna tat and type some until everyone else is up and I can be noisy with the rest of the work for the day :)

Winter Beauty?? CONTEST, Read and See!!!

While I was out in the cold snapping photos, letting my mind ease from the stress we are under, I seen this, not really for the first time but really noticing the beauty of this Can you guess what it is??? Maybe the first correct reply will get a sample pack of some of my Hand Dyed Thread... So get your thinking caps on, and study my pictures.

The Mystery piece of Tatting....

... is another snowflake by Michael Meloy!! I demanded the pattern ;) not really I asked for it and let me tell you it was a joy to make. Once I got the hang of it (I used a needle, he used shuttles) it worked up really quickly.

The thread is my newer hdt made by my kids of course that is why its called Sha-Na.

FINALLY...

Well just a few minutes ago I designed the final design for my next book... Now the task of typing out all designs, making the book etc... I may try a different approach if it works for the book this time. If I am scarce you know why. Plus hubby is laid off so I will be spending my time differently.

I also got to tat a neat-o snowflake today also... I will show it when its shown elsewhere... Sounds mysterious dosent it? LOL I just want the designer to show theirs first :)

When taking the kids to the bus I seen Sammy Scarecrow had gotten a fresh 4 - 5" of snow over night here he is under cover



As I was doing dishes after lunch I seen this beauty he was eating on some sort of seed. I have many more bird piccies but this is all I felt like resizing etc....


I am up early well sort of early to tat and have a bit of time for me sooooooooo I am off to finish this cup of coffee and tat my heart out LOL

todays events

Well today turned out to be one of those days if it werent for the cute things I would just go crazy...

I was winding up thread and taking pictures of it all while hubby took the kids to the bus, I caught my dog doing this...

What is he doing you ask, well watching birds, you should have seen his eyes I swear they were big as dinner plates LOL the dog has big eyes anyways being a Boston Terrier I didnt think they could have gotten any bigger HA HA

After awhile I looked out and seen all these beautiful Mourning doves It looks as though they are all guarding the feeder.

Yesterday while I was dying thread, I had some oddball skeins with not enough yardage etc... So I made myself some oddball thread LOL this i used dark blue dark brown and purple it is actually pretty neat looking.

I think That is it other than I designed an awesome looking bird for my book I may show a sneak peek in a day or so If your interested keep a look out...

If it weren't for bad luck...

... we would have no luck at all... Well hubbys truck was and still is broken down and now mine is too... What is with us anymore sheesh!! So the money I make that was supposed to be for thread is now vehicle repair money :( I wish I knew where I had picked up this "bad luck" bug, i would gladly give it back to the owner... Grrrrrrrr!!!

Such Saddening News :(::..

First of all before I get to the sad news I am wanting to know if there is anywhere you can attend HDT-A (hand dyed thread anonymous) seems I am severely addicted to the point of where from 8:30 am this morning I was dying and messing with threads and its now 2:30pm mind you in between was phone calls lunch coffee break etc... but still LOL My god I am so addicted I cant sleep without first thinking of color combinations and stuff...

Now the sad news that has inflicted my life... I am out of thread to dye!! I am so sad I am near tears here, seriously LOL my husband laughed at me hysterically when I told him with such sadness in my voice. I created 7 different threads this morning well 3 I had already made but had an order for them from my mom so I had to make more. plus 3 or 4 I still need to tat motifs for from the other day... I just dont know what I am gonna do for now until I can get to buy more thread... (subliminal message... Buy my thread so I can create more... end subliminal message) HA HA!!!

Truthfully though I am sad that I am out of thread. I have things going on in my life that get me down and cause me to overeat, (stress eating) and get so down to the point of giving up on things, and I have found with my tatting, designing and now dying threads, its helping me more than I really knew in the last few weeks I lost 5 pounds may not seem like alot to some but to me it is.... And since I started to blog on here regularly, the kindness of my tatting friends, the compliments, nice emails, and shared experiences, have helped me ALOT!!! I want to thank you all!! and I love ya all too!! I have never had a better bunch of friends in my life!

Well I am gonna start my supper here in the oven sit and listen to Dwight sings Buck (I love that cd) of course I can listen to Nine inch Nails one minute and Elvis or hank williams sr. the next so if you see that sort of thing from me, dont be alarmed I am weird in that way LOL

I think that is about it.... I hope those who dye thread can understand my sadness

Berry Punch!

Well being the redneck kind of gal that I am LOL I couldnt resist making this Camoflauge thread, needless to say this is my FAVORITE so far the snowflake I tatted was on another bloggers blog HERE I dont know his name or anything but I am in the process of contacting him etc...

This is faded jeans, this one didnt turn out like I wanted it to but its still pretty.

I am still working on my 3rd and 4th book!! I HOPE to have them ready before Christmas, HOPE being the key word here.

Saturday was my party we had it went great, my friend brought Jello shot i never had them before and they were good LOL I made $16 I planned on making more but only 4 people showed up, we had fun anyways...

My friend Amy gave me an awesome present!! Mugs & Kisses!! I loved it!! I use my mug each morning makes the coffee taste even better!! :)

Sunday was my birthday, 32 woo hoo lol I am still young :~), age dosent bother me one bit, some days I feel about 90 but dont we all at times...

My kids made me these for my birthday

I love them they are on the table and are gonna stay there FOREVER!! I love the simple little home made things like this. They made these when they were staying at my moms last weekend. THANKS MOM!!


I got a special delivery yesterday too my boss sent me these... She is such a wonderful and thoughtful lady!!

THEN yesterday my hubbys truck is not functioning again so that leaves me without my truck :( I miss my baby and I think she misses me too LOL

My husband will be laid off full time startign next week. :(::.. I hate it so badly we just dont need this right now!!

ok I think that is all for now the kids are getting ready for school and I am sitting here watching my Dark Eyed Junco's at the feeder I love those birds they are just so pretty!!

Rainbow Cotton Candy

New thread in the shoppe. I wanted to get the sample piece tatted before I showed it off

This one is cotton candy. the motif is tatted with the soft size 10 thread the next picture is the size 20 and the last is the soft 10

This is pink and tan actually it was supposed to be different BUT things dont always turn out to be like we want them lol this is also the 10 soft

This is a blue jay that I snapped a picture of yesterday and it inspired me. Motif is my own design as most are. Shown here is the size 10 thread tatted and the size 50 thread dyed.

Gettin Ready....

to party LOL no not really party but have a nice relaxing day on saturday... 2 friends and I are having a day of pampering for our customers so far I got 3 people coming out of more than 10 that were invited. I am hoping to sell some extra avon that I have in stock here. Then Sunday is my birthday I plan to tat and dye thread I put all my stuff away for now to keep it out of reach. I may get some tatting in tonight as today was so unproductive it wasnt funny. My daughter was home from school today, last night she got a bit sick and was vomiting but I think something from supper just didnt agree with her tummy, she was ok this morning but fibbed to me so she could stay home. Breakfast she had a bowl of cereal and a peanut butter sandwich and lunch she had 2 packs of oatmeal LOL now she is chowing down on pretzels UGH!! kids she wanted to just stay home for fear of being ill in school which is understandable I told her to next time just say that, instead of telling me she was still sick, but I can imagine all kids do things like that at one point or another. I am gonna have to go and get my son soon at the bus. One good thing today my husbands truck is now fixed and I got my truck back. I am so happy on that. Now if only other things start to go right but I can imagine with some time they will. January I get to go back to work and I cant wait to get caught up well we arent behind just some things are neglected due to money issues and I cant wait to feel secure again for a little while and not spend sleepless nights worrying about how much hubby will be working and how much of a cut in pay he has and if we will have enough for the house payment :( but atleast the last pay I caught everything else up completely.
Ok enough rambling on and on I just felt like talking

Test HDT's

These are my test HDT's. Some didnt turn out as I wanted but I am learing and figuring out my own way... I am finding my creativity in this I just want to dye all day and all night. I couldnt get to sleep last night because I was thinking of color combinations LOL
